Method: Handbuilding

Process: I was inspired by the shape of Yin and Yang, and wanted to incorporate the symbol into the heart shape. For a month I handbuilt every component, and made sure the hearts fit together by forming the bases first, and then shaping the sides.

Significance: The details of the XO’s, leaves, buttons on the side, and hearts in the center to mimic the dots in the yin and yang, are intentional. Sculpting earth through human expression, with symbolic meaning, reflects that the world should be balanced and full of love.
